SC SHRAB Resources

With funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the SC SHRAB has produced recordings of several helpful presentations and classes for use by any individual or institution wanting to gain more archival knowledge.

2024 Building a Digital Collection Class

The SC SHRAB hosted a Building a Digital Collection Class session to address standards for metadata and related aspects of digitization projects, presented by board member Kate Boyd, Midlands Regional Coordinator for the SC Digital Library as part of the 2024 Regrant Program.  A recording of the session is available on the SC Electronic Records Archive.

2021 Workshop

The SC SHRAB hosted a day of training and networking on September 20, 2021, with funds from a State Board Programming grant provided by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC).  The workshop focused on archival education and was geared specifically towards the needs of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other primarily African-American Archives within South Carolina.   The goal of the workshop was to aid these institutions in making their collections more accessible though conservation, preservation, and outreach.
