In compliance with Proviso 117.70, the Department of Archives and History’s fees and fines report for FY 2021-22 is listed below.

60-11-103. Disposition of proceeds; use of funds.

(2)   Amount of Fine/Fee

Archival Research Fees - $10 minimum per each in-state research request; $20 minimum for each out-of-state request.

State Historical Marker Research Fee - $250 per marker

(4)   Purpose for which the funds were expended in the agency

Archival Research Fees were expended to pay for reproduction expenses.

Historical Marker Fees were used to pay for National Register of Historic Places certificates and plaques.

12-6-3535 (G) 1-3. Income tax credit for making qualified rehabilitation expenditures for a certified historic structure.

(2)   Amount of Fine/Fee

Preliminary fee schedule: Projects less than $500,000, 0% of estimated expenses. Projects at least $500,000 but less than $2,000,000, .1% of estimated expenses. Projects at least $2,000,000 but less than $4,000,000, .25% of estimated expenses. Projects $4,000,000 or greater, .5% of estimated expenses.

Final fee schedule: Projects less than $500,000, 0% of actual expenses. Projects at least $500,000 but less than $2,000,000, .25% of actual expenses Projects at least $2,000,000 but less than $4,000,000, .5% of actual expenses Projects $4,000,000 or greater, 1.0% of actual expenses.

All funds collected from this source were transferred to the State Grant Fund for dispersal as competitive grants for statewide historic preservation projects.
