
Announcing SC SHRAB 2026 Microgrant and Scholarship Programs
As part of the funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the SC SHRAB will offer funding for a capital support Microgrant Program and a Scholarship Program.
Microgrant Program
A maximum individual award amount up to $1,000.00, to fund up to 5 microgrants to provide non-competitive funding for capital support and/or essential needs purchases to benefit an archival program of South Carolina institutions housing historical records that are accessible to the public. This may be a historical society, library, museum, college or university, church, public library, local governments, or other similar institution or organization. There is no cost share for these microgrants; SC SHRAB will provide 100% of the funding.
Scholarship Program
A maximum individual award amount up to $1,000.00, to fund up to 4 scholarships, including archival/records conferences or virtual training, to employees and volunteers of South Carolina institutions housing historical records that are accessible to the public. This may be a historical society, library, museum, college or university, church, public library, local governments, or other similar institution or organization.

Applicant Process and Requirements
Eligible institutions/individuals will need to complete a Funding Request Document and/or Scholarship Program Application and submit it along with the required documentation to the SC SHRAB for review and funding.
Deadlines and Timetable for 2026 Programs
February 2, 2026 through May 1, 2026 – SC SHRAB will accept applications and related materials. Scholarships may be for conferences/training offered through December 31, 2026.
