Web Archives Collections

More and more key publications and information about the functions of agencies can only be found on their websites.  Starting in 2007, the SC Archives began working with Archive-It to archive state agency websites. Archive-It is part of the Internet Archives project which is building a digital library of Internet sites. Like a paper library, it provides free access to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public.

The South Carolina State Government Website Archives is made up of four collections:

Original South Carolina Web Archive - This collection contains the original sites that the SC Archives crawled.  In most cases newer collections of these sites are contained in the other collections.
South Carolina State Government Cabinet Agencies and Misc Sites - All websites for Cabinet State Agencies.  Websites collected as part of the South Carolina Cabinet Collection are also included in the South Carolina State Government Web Archive (A-L) and the South Carolina State Government Web Archive (M-Z).
South Carolina State Government Web Archive (A-L)  - All websites for State Agencies collected and saved.
South Carolina State Government Web Archive (M-Z) - All websites for State Agencies collected and saved.
