Who Am I?
My name is Aimee M. Hood I am a native of South Carolina. My roots extend from Columbia, SC Charleston, SC and the West Indies. As a young child I was always an analytical thinker and had a love for asking the question “Why” and problem solving. I received my A.S. from Midland’s Technical College with a focus in Finance and Technology, received a Certificate in Business and Office Management, Became a Certified Educational Program Planner, and received my Certification in Project Management. I’ve always had a heart for accounting, database building, and finding the missing piece to the puzzle.
What is your job?
I am the Budget and Finance Manger at SCDAH. I oversea the agencies state and federal appropriations, ensure we are compliant with state laws and regulations. I am responsible for submitting yearly budget request, approver of expenditures of state and federal dollars. Analyze and prepare budget reports, grant management, reconcile statements, and vendor connections. Supervise
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is being able to build rapport with co workers, representatives, and other agencies in the state of South Carolina.
Who is your favorite historical figure or time period?
My favorite historical figure is Jesus. He had a spirit of love and compassion for others, he didn’t conform to the social norms of society, and he taught great life lessons.
