The South Carolina State Historical Records Advisory Board (SC SHRAB)

and provide access to South Carolina’s Historical Records.

                                                   Vision

The SC SHRAB is an active and effective agent for the preservation of a wider
public access to South Carolina’s historical records and serves as a model for
the nation’s other SHRABs.  It fosters and supports communication and collaboration,

SC SHRAB Resources

With funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the SC SHRAB has produced recordings of several helpful presentations and classes for use by any individual or institution wanting to gain more archival knowledge.

As part of the 2024 Regrant Program, the board hosted and presented a session on "Building a Digital Collection" which addresses standards for metadata and related aspects of digitization projects.

As part of the 2021 State Board Programming grant, the SC SHRAB hosted a day of training and networking focusing on archival education to aid smaller, traditionally-underserved institutions in making their collections more accessible though conservation, preservation, and outreach.

More information and links to these presentations is available on the SC SHRAB Resources webpage.
