Reference Room
Inside the Reference Room, you will meet the staff at the reference desk. They can assist you with your research by answering questions and pointing you toward documents that may be helpful. Your research can take you to bound volumes or loose original materials. Our reading tables make it easy to view the materials you need. Your research may take you to self-service microfilm, which is easily found in cabinets in the Reference Room, and viewed on microfilm readers. Your research may lead to one of several computers in the Reference Room, where you can view computerized catalogs, indexes, maps, or go online to check resources on the World Wide Web. If you need original documents that are not microfilmed, the staff will retrieve them for you from the stacks.

Nearly 14,000 researchers visit the Archives and History Center annually and another 15,000 use the public areas for meetings and conferences. Researchers have come from all 50 states and several foreign countries.
